What we do

We request public records — such as police body-camera and dash-camera video, 911 audio and incident reports — from U.S. government agencies under each state's public-records law, for use in news and documentary content.

Jeromel FOIA Reader

Our staff send records requests by hand from their own Gmail accounts. Jeromel FOIA Reader is our internal tool that, with each staff member's permission, gets read-only access to their Gmail so it can:

• confirm that a records request they sent was delivered, and
• match agency replies (and records the agency attaches) to the right request, so nothing gets lost.

The tool cannot send, change or delete any email. It is used only by Jeromel Media staff. Read how we handle data in our Privacy Policy.
